I am a bit confused about my current kernel/kmod-nvidia update situation. When I run "yum check-update" I am confronted with the output below:
Hi
I have a problem with PAE kernel sources and builing nvidia driver.
uname -a returns

Hi,
I seem to be facing trouble launching VBox on the following kernel :
3.8.12-100.fc17.i686.PAE
Have two kernels on the same machine - 3.8.12-100.fc17.i686.PAE & 3.8.12-100.fc17.i686. Vbox has issues only on the PAE one.
Hi!
I am trying to build a custom kernel, following the guide on fedora wiki
the error occurs when Im installing the build dependencies
Code:
[john@lunatech ~]$ sudo yum-builddep kernel-2.6.31.12-174.2.3.fc12.src.rpm
[sudo] password for john:
I am running F12.
With prior kernels - 2.6.31.9-174.fc12.i686 or before - I could simply rename the nouveau.ko driver to nouiveau.ko.bad. Then the kernel would load the nv driver instead, and everything worked great. FWIW: adding rdblacklist="nouveau" to the kernel params in grub.conf didn't seem to do anything.
Folks,
just switched from SuSE 11.0 to 11.2 and installed VMplayer 3. When I start it I get a message box:
"Before you can run VMWare several modules must be compiled and loaded into the kernel."
I then click Install and enter the root password, but get the message:
Anyone else having probs with Fed 13?
No matter what I try, I can't get it to start! It always stops just after 'loading SMB' and I never get a screen.
Also, running Fed 12, any kernel than 2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686 never actually gets Fed up and running. The newest kernel I have is:
2.6.32.19-163.fc12.i686.
Do any of you have this prob?
