Can't change display resolution on Ubuntu 12.04

http://askubuntu.com – I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 on my Lenovo G575 (64 bit). I was using my computer with the 1366x768 display resolution. I changed the display resolution of my computer to the 800x600 yesterday, then I tried to return it back to 1366x768, but I couldn't. When I try to change resolution, it's getting dark and it crashes. Then nothing happens. So I need to restart to open my computer. I used many methods which is written on the net to return the resolution back, but all these methods didn't work :( NOTE: When I create new user, the resolution for new user automatically is setting to 1366x768 and I ca (HowTos)

My system was fine till I installed the Nvidia driver. Now the display resolution has changed to 640x480 and I am unable to revert it to 1366x768.

I'm very new on Ubuntu and I want to ask how to change resolution because my resolution is stuck at 1024x768 but in Windows I can set my resolution up to 1366x768.

At the beginning my screen resolution is 1680x 945 in Ubuntu 12.04. I found the computer is really hot then I try to install a new Nvidia display driver and installed bumblebee. I am not sure it's right approach or not. Then my display resolution is automatically adjusted to 1080 x 768.

After that I cannot select the original resolution.

i have a dell mini 10 and ubuntu does not detect the display. when i go into System=>preferences=>Display is says the display is unknown.

now it has 1024x768 resolution but it is made for 1366x768.

I have a strange problem. My native resolution is 1366X768, yet every time I restart, the resolution always starts up as 1024X768 without being stretched out -- it has thick black borders on the side. How do I make it remember to start up at the resolution I want?

Hi, I recently purchased a new widescreen monitor with a resolution of 1366x768. I've installed the latest NVidia beta driver, however it does not correctly detect the resolution of my monitor. I am running a twinview setup alongside another 1280x1024 LCD.
