Can't adjust desktop resolution

http://askubuntu.com – I can't set my desktop resolution beyond 1024x768 on Ubuntu 12.04. Everything else seems to be fine, I just don't have the option in Displays to set the monitor to a higher resolution. I know the video card can support 1600x1200 because I run Windows at that resolution with the same monitor. The PC in question is an Acer Aspire AX3950-EB20P minitower Video card info from lspci $lspci | grep -i VGA 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) No other drivers in use System settings --> Additional Dri (HowTos)
