cant access internet in fedora

http://www.linuxquestions.org – hi m totally new to fedora...... i just installed fedora wanted to access the internet so just did the proxy settings in the browser like i used to do for windows....... however the net is not working... smeone told me that there is some config file where we need to enter the proxy server's id addess n port....... can anyone tell me whats the command to edit in the config file n what should i do..........?????? (HowTos)

Tired of not knowing anything except Windows. Bought a Dell mini with Ubuntu 8.04 installed on it and I'm working on learning Unix from the command line. This Forum ought to be helpful once I get a little further along.

I have access to a server via ssh. I'm allowed to install things in my userspace. Furthermore, I'm allowed to use the bandwidth. I paid for access to this server, so they're pretty much ok with me doing things with my space. They told me not to store over 20 GBs of data, and I've kept to that rule.

hey everyone!!! i am about to follow a simple "how to" to install a web server on a linux machine with all the default settings(i.e no conf file is being edited (httpd.conf etc))...... here are a set of few questions i would like to know regarding such a web server: (1) at which ip can i access this server on lan???

Hi. I have updated php on my fedora 6 installation. when I run phpinfo from a browser it shows version 5.3.1 but when I run it form the command line it shows version 5.2.4 php-cli5.3.1 was installed when I updated. But I tried manually downloading and installing a php-cli5.3.1 rpm and as I suspected it told me it was already installed.

hi, i have recently installed opengeu which is based upon ubuntu 8.04 but i need the deb package for the latest kernel as my terminal rejects any attempt of making it and without the kernel my net and few other bit dont work. if anyone could send me a link to it i would be most grateful

I got to the part where I'm supposed to partition Mint. I've got a 500GB hard drive, and I thought I'd give 300GB to LM--but I'm unclear about using ext2, 3 or 4. What about the swap file? Is that automatic?

Hi all, I have configured Squid Proxy on CentOS 5.2. Internet is working fine. After enabling proxy on Windows system,I tried to ping to any website,but no getting request.But i can browse internet.

I am unable to connect to a server(having Public IP) from windows system which is in other location.
