First of all i'm not sure if this is the correct subforum but there wasn't really anywhere else to post. I know i should be looking in a forum actually related to transmission but i didn't want to make another account
I'm torrenting a large (~6GB) file and my download speed isn't great so i like to leave my computer on overnight.

I have a simple one today, I've been using transmission for a couple months now and since the beginning I noticed that if I open transmission, NOTHING else works.. well, I'm talking about internet, not even typing google.com at browser.
I tried setting up the upload limit to 5kbps and download to 20kbps..
I'm using the latest version of Ubuntu and Transmission.
According to Transmission, the file I am downloading has 0 peers and is idle, even though there are a few peers seeding it.
Here's a batch of error messages from Transmission's log:
> Could not connect to tracker.
installed for slack 13.0 on my machine. I type transmission from the command line and get "Cannot open display:".
No dependancies except this line:

Dependencies: libevent (available at SlackBuilds.org) is required,
but transmission will use a built-in libevent if you don't have
I just installed 12.10 and put GNOME 3.6 on it, so far I love it. I had just one question, I want to use the Transmission Daemon Indicator. Of course transmission has to be running to use it, and the only way to keep it running while with a closed window is to enable the desktop indicator.
