I've been googling for how to set up printer monitoring - especially for Canon printers. This is because I have a Canon iR 3035 that I want to monitor for toner problems, paper jams, and paper outages.
Packt: "Simple Invoices provides freelancers, non-profits, and small business a user-friendly way to bill customers and track invoices. It's an application for people who don't want the hassle of larger accounting programs, such as GNU Cash, Quicken, or Quickbooks."
I have a Canon MX410 All-In-One printer that's worked OK up 'til now for my minimal printing needs. Suddenly, it's stopped printing. Ink and paper are fine, the Nozzle Test shows no problems and it both copies and scans correctly. It accepts print jobs and CUPS claims that they've printed but nothing happens.
I'm not exactly sure when it happened (perhaps in the last month), but I can no longer print on photo paper using my Canon Pixma iP4600. This used to work fine, but now if I select any paper type other than "Plain Paper" it no longer prints.
I am just using the standard CUPS/Gutenprint PPD files and setup (in KDE).
I have an odd printing problem. I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit, and installed the default driver for my Canon iP4200 printer. I've used this printer without any trouble for years...and when I print a test page from the Printer Configuration in ubuntu it works fine.
I'm using a Canon PIXMA MP250, and I'm running 12.04 LTS. The printer's been working fine for the couple of months I've been a Linux user. That is, until today.
I just printed a 1-page ODT document from LibreOffice.
Another upgrade - another treasure hunt with the Canon printer...
Actually, it works quite well under CUPS, so I shouldn't complain.
But I would like to see it work again with the Canon driver & I am not there yet.
Canon Australia doesn't have Linux drivers for iP4300 any more (sad) but they are still available from Canon Europe.

I downloaded Linu
I've successfully used Michael Gruz's driver for my Canon Pixma iP4850 on previous Ubuntu installations, selecting the 4800 driver. The printed output has been excellent and paper source selection has worked properly.
I'm now trying to get the printer working on a 64bit Xubuntu Quantal 12.10 machine, but am having problems.
I was wondering to have a Canon DSLR camera to satisfy my hobby of photography. But actually I am a Nikon users. I read in my lovely magazine, there is a short review and comparison of some Macro lens for Canon. And the most advanced and best choice is Canon EF 100mm 1:2,8 Macro USM.
