I have a Canon PIXMA MG5250 stand alone wifi printer thats connected to all my windows computers and laptops. Now I want to install a computer with Ubuntu 10.10 and connect this printer also wireless by wifi.
is this possible, and how do i do this,do I need to download or configure this somewhere?
Just thought I'd share this little tit-bit. It has taken me two days on and off to sort this out - anyway this is what did the trick.
The printer is an Epson XP-400 series with wireless capability. There is no driver for this printer in the default install of CUPS. Epson provide drivers for this printer in the form of *rpm, *deb and src.

Hi,We've some computers @home, one on ArchLinux and two on Chakra (last release). The printer (Canon MP780) works for one ArchLinux and one Chakra computer. But for my Chakra it doesn't. My roommate on Chakra has used the KDE interface to install the printers from the network.
