http://www.backtrack-linux.org – Hi , i am a newbie to Backtrack and appreciate your kind help I have installed backtrack R3 in my laptop. I am trying to connect to postgreSQL database. I cant find the database.yml file file in /opt/framework3/config directory . My installation only have framework2 directory. Please guide me how to connect to database. Cheers Max Singapore (HowTos)

I upgraded a server with a Rails application to Ubuntu 12.04 from 10.04 and cannot connect to Postgresql database now...

Here is the error message from Rails app:

could not connect to server: No such file or directory Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432"

Also the pg_ctl start is not recognized as a command.

I am using SQL Workbench to connect to company database. The following parameters are correct as I can connect and execute SQL commands.

Driver: PostgreSQL URL: jdbc:postgresql://company_intranet_url username: some_user password: some_password

Drivers: Library - C:\path_to\postgresql-703.jdbc4.jar

My question is how do I connect to the database using command prompt or PHP

When I started installing the Humble Indie Bundle 5 games the software center stopped working and now I get this error.

I have an active redmine but I can not find the database where it is running right now. It should be on PostgreSQL but the database where it should be running is empty. Does anybody have any idea how to check current database used by redmine?
