I'm trying to install themes with gnome tweak, and I need to install gnome-shell-extensions-user-theme because otherwise I cannot see the shell extensions tab. However, I cannot install shell extensions.
On a fresh ubuntu install (12.04, x86_64). After gnome-shell installation, I've tried to install some extensions from extensions.gnome.org but got no result. I've tried with Firefox and Chromium and got the same issue.
1- open any extension page on extensions.gnome.org
2- switch extension to "ON".
Okay so they have moved gnome-shell-extensions-common out of the repos so the only extensions available there is the user theme. I have updated the system and as the two files were in conflict, so had to remove the extensions-common package. Now the normal way of installing an extension will be heading to their site and turning the extension on from there.
I upgrade from 10.04 to 12.04, install gnome 3 and remove unity.
My gnome version is 3.4.1. The GNOME Shell extensions is installed and enabled.
When I use firefox to visit each extension page in https://extensions.gnome.org/, for example, https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/5/alternative-status-menu/, there is no where to install the extensions.

I'm using GNOME Shell and up until recently I could install extensions fine using https://extensions.gnome.org/
But now I can't seem to install any. If I click on the slider to install one, it switches to "On" but there is no confirmation to install and it doesn't install.

Hi, I installed F18 X64 last night but today I am trying to install Gnome Shell Extensions from Gnome.org and I get this error; You do not appear to have an up to date version of GNOME3. You won't be able to install extensions from here.
While trying to install this package, I get this error:
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or
been moved out of Incoming.
