I have a Verizion I905 running 4.0.4 that I want to upgrade to 4.1.1 I know Verizon doesn't have a ROM that was released so I need to go to something like cyanogenmod.
I saw their guide at http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/wiki/Sam...l_Update_Guide but Heimdall Suite 1.3.2: won't see my device.
Any help/insight would be appreciated.

I'm following the directions on the cyanogenmod wiki website in order to root my AT&T Galaxy SIII, so that I can install Cyanogenmod 10, but I get stuck at step 5 - "Untar koush's ClockworkMod Recovery into the Heimdall directory". Problem is this - I have no clue how to untar in into the Heimdall directory. I barely know what that means.

I have the samsung galaxy s3 SGH-I747 AT&T, with clockworkmod and I am currently running the cm-10-20121011-EXPERIMENTAL-d2att-M2.zip
I want to learn here, and I am looking for a guide/readme on how to build the cm-10 rom for this phone, The wiki on CyanogenMod does not have the information on how to do this with this phone yet.

Trying to flash Cyanogenmod through their wiki guide I have a GT-P5113 however I am using their GT-P5110 install guide (since the wiki said it was the same)
I am stuck on step 5.
I ran the cmd prompt from the heimdall folder with recovery.img in it however I get the line,
"ERROR: Claiming interface failed!"
How to fix?

Alright, so I'm new to this stuff. Rooted the phone easily. Trying to get the CyanogenMod 10 rom. I downloaded the zip files, went into clockworkrecovery and installed the zip from the sd. After i did that and booted it back up all I get is that it says Cyanogen in blue with blue spinning bar circling it. Does not go away it just keeps doing it. So I recovered to my back up.
I have Parallels v5.
I launched it, and using FireFox.....

Unchecked Fastboot. Settings/Power/Fastboot.
Enabled USB debugging.

I am SICK AND TIRED OF NOT being able to properly use a ROM because they linked the gapps to the CM wiki. So, I was wondering.

http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sam...rkMod_Recovery mentions a "hardcore's kernel". What kind of kernel is that? Is it the actual system kernel used by the ROM one is installing afterwards or is it just some sort of boot kernel for the recovery application?
It also mentions hardcore's even though the kernel logo during booting refers to Semaphore.
Just to let everyone know, the Note 2 LTE (including T-Mobile) will be getting official CyanogenMod 10.1 builds!
