Cannot get LDAP to run in TLS mode

view story

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hello everyone, I am trying to get the LDAP service (slapd) to run in secure i.e. TLS mode, so I can use it for LDAP user authentication in a small home network. I have the entry SLAPD_LDAPS="yes" in my /etc/sysconfig/slapd file but this appears to have no effect. (NB: The Fedora 17 sysadmin guide in Appendix D.1.11refers to the "/etc/sysconfig/ldap" file but it looks like this has been renamed as the content of the slapd file is as described there.) When I check with netstat I can only see ldap running, not ldaps as well as would be expected: Code: [root@loca (HowTos)
