http://www.linuxforums.org – I am rather new to Ubuntu but have been able to boot from cdrom on this PC before, and have it run " under Windows XP Home". Due to age of PC Ubuntu ran in a degraded mode. That was 2 years ago and The Verion was not 9.04. I tried to install Ubuntu 9.04 on this PC again (Dell Dimension 2400) and do not have enough space. I get a message that Windows XP will be wiped. My friend built me a PC with Windows XP Pro. It has plenty of space. When I put the DVD 9.04 v. that came with my Beginning Ubuntu Linux book, I get to a point where I see message: "BOOT FROM CD?DVD. I hit a lot of keys but nothing happens and Windows starts up. The device I am trying to boot from is a Model GCE-85208 year 2003. Please can anyone offer some suggestions? I am guite the novice at best. Sincerely, Steven Byerly (HowTos)
