Going through LFS 7.3 and about ready to make it bootable but Fedora's grub is giving me issue.
The plan was to share /boot between LFS and Fedora 18 as I have done in the past (been awhile since I ran LFS - LFS 4.something last time). Hell, I've shared /boot between Fedora, CentOS, Ubuntu, and LFS.

Hi all,
I finish installed Ubuntu 12.04 into my IdeaPad Y480 via normal boot and not UEFI.
I have a Compaq SR5130NX (originally Win7) which was given to us with no HDD. I installed a Seagate 40G hdd in the machine and installed 12.04 from the Live CD. No install errors reported. After install the computer will not boot - we get a Read Error.
Tested the HDD with SeaTools (DOS), drive looks good. Erased HDD and reinstalled 12.04.
I attempted to add Crunchbang to my new laptop which boots windows 7 in uefi-mode, but in all my attempt to boot CB I messed up my efi boot and had to reinstall everything. #! installed just fine, but I wasn`t able to access it when the installation was finished.

I am situated in Mumbai, India, which is +5.30 hours time zone (no daylight savings). I have windows xp installed on one hard drive and Ubuntu 12.10 installed on the other hard drive (installed each OS disconnecting the other hard drive; Use the boot menu using F12 to boot into each OS).

I recently upgraded my system from Fedora 14 to 16 by http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Upgrad...dora_using_yum . All went quite smoothly except for one very odd problem. As you know this upgrade switches from grub to grub2. I created /boot/grub2/grub2.cfg with grub2-mkconfig and ran grub2-install without encountering any errors but when I restart I am taken to the grub prompt.
Hi everyone. I have an 80 MB /boot partition, which is obviously a problem. I'd like to move the contents of that partition into the /boot directory on my root partition, and change my boot process to no longer mount the /boot partition and instead boot from my root partition.
