Last week Google began shipping out the Nexus 7 to lucky customers in the U.S. while our friends up north and across the pond had to sit back and wonder when they would get their turn. During 2012, Google says they received “national security letter” requests for up to 2,000 accounts from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. National security letters are a tool used by the FBI and other government agencies to gather financial, phone and Internet data without a warrant.
