My 12.10 laptop with gnomeshell is booting quite slowly. It has never booted particularly fast, and I feel it's probably rather slow for its specs. (quad core 2.2 ghz, 8 gig ram - takes nearly 90 seconds to boot and login). I've enclosed a bootchart, but I need help in understanding what it means!
I figured this might be the best place to post this.basically, the bootchart package makes a nice little img of your boot up, and shows what makes things take the most time, etc, etc.If you wanna join in, install the "bootchart" package Here (for those of you with apturl) or through Synaptic or apt-get, aptitude, etc.
That still seems like way too much. Console-kit-daemon.service starts here in about 50ms, and my laptop is anything but powerful. You might perhaps want to have a look at the bootchart created by systemd-analyze plot > bootchart.svg.
