Can the right arrow key be disabled in Grub?

http://askubuntu.com – I am dual booting so have a choice of operating systems in the Grub menu. The only annoyance I find is that pressing the Right arrow key is the equivalent of pressing Enter. If I press the Right arrow key the OS which is highlighted will be launched, this however is a bit annoying because my keyboard is a little cramped and a few times I have accidentally pressed the Right arrow key instead of the Down arrow key and loaded the wrong OS. Is there a way to stop the Right arrow key functioning in this way in Grub? (HowTos)

I an running Karmic. Recently my keyboard has started behaving oddly. It does not respond to three arrow keys and the delete key. I also have Win7 installed on another partition. The keys work fine there.

I've successfully setup navigation in the terminal using Ctrl+Arrow keys, but i can't setup the terminal to be able to select text when pressing Shift + Arrow (or Ctrl + Shift + Arrow to select the whole word). How can I make the builtin read command support history, by pressing the up/down key to cycle through them?

I've tried catching when you press the up key, however it doesn't seem to work with read:

I did a BIOS update on my Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop and now for some reason whenever I try to use the arrow keys (up, down, left, right) all they do is bring up VLC. All the other keys on the keyboard work fine, including my multimedia keys.

Does anyone have any idea how I might change this or even look at the configuration for the arrow keys?
