Can I share my internet(lan) through Wifi(adhoc) connection via a laptop? (like: connetify)

A new program, currently in open beta, allows Windows users to set up and share an internet connection with no hardware, using a software router. I was wondering if the feature was present in Linux. http://www.connectify.me/

The title explain it all. I've managed to do this on Windows machine with connectify lite, need an equivalent solution for Ubuntu.

I use a software called connecity ( http://connectify.me/ ) to turn my laptop to a wifi router and provide other devices with internet using my DSL connection. But after i switched to the ubuntu 11.10 I can't do this thing. Is there any linux software or trick available to do this?

As many of you know, most of our android(not only android) devices can't connect to ad hoc hotspots. There's a solution for win7/8 users to set up infrastructure hotspot on their laptop using software like connectify and so on. Ubuntu also allows to create wifi hotspot to share internet, but it will be ad hoc one. So here's the guide how to set up infrastructure hotspot on ubuntu 12.04/12.10.

I use airtel 3G modem. To use internet on my iPad, i host an adhoc network. For a few minutes, internet works fine but then it disconnects automatically. When I don't host the wifi, internet works fine.

I am able to use connectify on windows and it works fine.

Any ideas, how to fix this.

I am using Ubuntu 11.10 along with Windows 7. I use a mobile broadband to connect to Internet. I have couple of Android phones which need Wi Fi access as well. In windows, i use Connectify.

But in ubuntu, when i create a wireless connection as hotspot from Network, any other device fail to recognize that hotspot. Please help with detailed instructions.

Hi there I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 and Windows 8 on my laptop.

On Windows I can use either Intel's native My WiFi Technology or Connectify to share my laptop's internet connection to my Android phone (no ad-hoc) so hardware wouldn't be much of a problem.
