I installed Ubuntu 12.04 (ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso) to my 4GB USB Sandisk drive so that I could install it on my laptop. I was able to get to the setup but when I would get to the part where it would ask me if I want to replace Windows or install next to it I chose to install next to it and then it would restart the computer.
I have cent OS with XEN installed on a blade server. After installing Cent OS I changed its Volumegroup from VolGroup00 to VolGroup01 using command 'vgrename' as I needed to access the Volgroups of VMs I was going to install on this base cent os. After this everything worked fine, and I achieved my objective.
I have 160gb laptop. i installed vista in c primary partition which is 25gb and installed ubuntu in d primary partition which is 20gb. A remainig for my data.
