First of all, you should probably know:
- It is rooted
- I renamed the camera click .ogg sound files using ROM toolbox pro, but the camera app still makes the shutter sound
Is there any way to disable the camera shutter sound? I've been scouring the internet for solutions and thought rooting my phone would do the trick, but now I can't seem to be able to even accomplish this task with root.
Anyone know how to mute the stock camera app's shutter sound?
The stock app doesn't even have this option in its settings menu.
And I've tried other apps such as Camera 360 and Camera FV5 which have the shutter mute in their settings but in actual use the shutter sound still plays.
I'm suspecting that it's the underlying camera driver which apps interface with that's the issue.
I have been trying to disable the camera shutter since it is so annoying when taking pictures. I downloaded a file explorer and went to /system/media/audio/ui and found .ogg sound files, I renamed the camera_click.ogg to camera_click.ogg.bak and restarted the phone. The shutter sound still persists, is the sound file located somewhere else?
Where is located the camera shutter sound file on LG G2 mini (Android 4.4.2)?
The accepted answer for How do I disable the 'click' sound on the camera app? recommends deleting /system/media/audio/ui/camera_click.ogg. I deleted the file, rebooted the phone several times, however the camera did not stop making the shutter noise.
When using the default camera with the N5, when I take a photo instead of hearing a camera shutter sound I hear a beep, I'm assuming this is normal unless I use a 3rd party camera app? Just asking cause I don't think I've ever heard a phone "beep" when taking a photo before:)
I recently purchased a verizon N3. Before that I had the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which was rated the best phone a mere 2+ years ago. One of the great features on that phone was the zero lag/shutter on the camera. You could shoot photos as fast as your fingers were capable.
Its now going on 3 weeks since I bought my N3 and have been taking pictures.
