I've just discovered something very interesting about the S3 camera -its ability to use very -and i mean VERY high shutter speeds. I first noticed it in the EXIF data of a shot taken into a misty sun...a shutter speed of 1/10,000th second..so I decided to experiment a little to see what the shortest shutter speed the camera was capable of.
I develop a camera app ,I want to control camera's shutter time ,is that possible to realize?and what I want to realize final is prolong the exposure function, thank for your answer.
Currently running CM10 nightlies on my i747.
I am a big fan of the camera functionality of the stock touchwiz rom, I'm definitely up to experimenting to try to figure out how to carry over the stock camera app to a different AOSP based rom.
The stock camera app has great functionality and GUI.
I want to install Shutter, because I took a screenshot with the PrintScreen button, but when I try to install Shutter from the software center or from the terminal using the shutter ppa, it says that I need to install libxml-simple-perl. When I try to install that, it throws me another dependency, then again, then again. Why I can't install Shutter? Even Synaptic won't install it.
First of all, you should probably know:
- It is rooted
- I renamed the camera click .ogg sound files using ROM toolbox pro, but the camera app still makes the shutter sound
Is there any way to disable the camera shutter sound? I've been scouring the internet for solutions and thought rooting my phone would do the trick, but now I can't seem to be able to even accomplish this task with root.

Hello, i was wandering, how come noone has developed an app or a tweak for the camera that will give us full control of the settings (shutter etc - i know aperture is a hardware thing).
I mean to give us the ability to choose for example shutter times for up to 30" or even more, since this is a software related issue.
I have been trying to disable the camera shutter since it is so annoying when taking pictures. I downloaded a file explorer and went to /system/media/audio/ui and found .ogg sound files, I renamed the camera_click.ogg to camera_click.ogg.bak and restarted the phone. The shutter sound still persists, is the sound file located somewhere else?
How can I make the camera shutter sound louder? I love it, and want it loud so I can always hear it in noisy locations.
:D
