http://www.linuxandlife.com – Linux dedicated servers are very widely used and recently, Calexda - a manufacturer of ARM servers - has unveiled a new server unit at the Ubuntu Developer Summit in Oakland (California). In this event, Calxeda's Vice President of Marketing, Karl Freund, showed off one of the company's servers loaded with several of the EnergyCore units running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The machine was running a LAMP stack showing the Calxeda web site using node.js and Ruby on Rails. He also said that compiling the ARM version of Ubuntu should happen significantly faster using the new servers. 48 quad-core ARM proc (Distributions)

A Virtual Private Server can be treated as a small dedicated server unit which have its own set of processes and own set of system resources to run your official site or ecommerce site or a web portal in its virtually dedicated web environment.

Hi,

I've got an Ubuntu VM running on an Ubuntu host, and I'm wondering what I could use the systems for.

Currently, the VM is acting as a web server, with both the host and the VM also running SSH servers. One of them will act as a Time Capsule too, once I get around to setting that back up after a recent format.

My question now is: what interesting things can I set up next?

I am looking for some hardware recommendations on an upcoming virtualization project. We are a small company (80 users - 25 in site 1, 55 in site 2) currently using Windows Server 2003 - no VM servers yet. Our AD is setup where site 1 is the root domain and site 2 is a subdomain/subnet - connected by T1 and VPN for failover.
