For my money Calibre is one of the most indispensible pieces of software in GNU/Linux. It can handle all your e-books in all the major formats, including PDF, EPUB and Mobi.

I presently have a Sony reader and of course all my books are epub. I'm getting a Nexus 7 android tablet shortly and was wondering what format it's reader takes and if not epub would Calibre be able to change my epub books to the nexus 7 reader requirement or can I get an epub reader to work on the tablet....thanks garry
I have several thousand books in Calibre. These are mainly pdf. The original pdf metadata is invalid, but I have manually corrected this in Calibre (i.e. the Calibre catalogue, NOT the pdf).
