C++ programming - Is there a way to make gedit recognize new classes?

http://askubuntu.com – I'm C++ programming in ubuntu 12.04 using gedit and it recognizes c++ default commands. I was wondering if I can make it able to recognize the new classes I define and change their color in the code or sth. thank you (HowTos)

I've been using gedit 2.30.4 to edit my C/C++ source code and want to change the syntax highlighting scheme. Is there a configuration file somewhere that I can modify to change the current settings ( I'd like to change the color of comment blocks , preprocessor commands , etc. ). Thanks for any information.

So I've got this working in a 10.04 ubuntu OS in bash where I can run:

$ gedit app/file.rb

bash opens that file with gedit but it is tied up.

How can I make my earlier command equivalent to $ gedit app/file.rb & by default.

Hello, I could not find gedit specific forums so I hope no one is offended that i ask this gedit question here. I have heard their are gedit themes available and that you can modify them yourself. Before I delve into all that, i was wondering how do-able my goal would be. Basically i just want to emulate the old darkbasic background / menu bar / scroll bar. How possible is this?

First post. Using Ubuntu for over a year now. Like it a LOT! :D

I was using 10.04 32-bit (with gedit 2) then switched to 12.04 32-bit (with gedit 3).

I use gedit for writing HTML and CSS. There is a plugin (gedit-plugins) called "snippets" which helps me a lot.
