I'm trying to get wine to work for Hawken. I used winetricks and installed all the necessary components. Wine works fine with other games I have installed but when I try to run Hawken it crashes while loading with the following error:

I'm new to Ubuntu so I have no idea how to fix this.
I have installed the WINE meta package from the Ubuntu Software Center, set everything up, and installed Half-Life from the CD. The installation went fine and no alerts showed up, so I'm not sure why it won't work.

ok Recently i had a HIS ATi 5770, and i had a problem with wine gaming, i couldnt run any game at medium or high graphics, even at low, i got extremely lowfps frames on ubuntu 10.10 and 10.04, and this wasnt just in wine, it was in linux native games like Trine, id feel the choppy performance and glitching

I usually use 10.04, and I play a game using WINE that works fine. I thought I'd try it on 12.04, but a patch won't install. WINE errors saying "Internal errors - Invalid parameters received".
Hello, arch noob here.BF2 is patched up to 1.41 with no CD, but when I run it through Play On Linux (wine 1.1.42) or through my install of wine (wine 1.5) it just gives and error and crashes. When I try without a no-CD patch it will ask for a CD and not run.I am currently using proprietary nvidia drivers.Terminal output:[gordon@Gordon-Arch Battlefield 2]$ wine --version

Is there a section here where i can ask about the Wine program? i am using Linux Ubuntu 12.10 Quetzal on a Toshiba laptop, on Windows 7 with 19 GB partitioned for Linux. I am dual booting with WIndows 7. Here is some additional info about my system:

I have installed (with the synpatic manager) Wine1.4, winetricks, wine1.4 i386 ,wine gecko1.4, wine1.4common.
From the GUI I can open programs/accessories/notepad (It works.)
But if I click on "Browse C drive" I get Error "No such file or directory"
