http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hello, I would like build my custom kernel and I found instruction on the fedoraproject to do so, (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Docs/CustomKernel), but I am running in a couple of problems: 1.I get the following error: Quote: $ yumdownloader --source kernel Loaded plugins: dellsysidplugin2, fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit Enabling fedora-source repository Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora-source. Please verify its path and try again I tried the above command on two different workstation, I get this error on my office workstation but not on the one at home, could it be something to do with the firewall ? 2. On my home workstation the command in [1] works fine, but I am stuck at the following one: Quote: $ sudo yum-builddep kernel- Loaded plugins: etckeeper, fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * fedora: ftp.riken.jp * rpmfusion-free: lordmorgul.net * rpmfusion-free-updates: lordmorgul.net * rpmfusion-nonfree: lordmorgul.net * rpmfusion-nonfree-updates: lordmorgul.net * updates: ftp.riken.jp Checking for new repos for mirrors Error: Could not open kernel- . Try running yum-builddep with the --nogpgcheck option. There was a problem getting the build deps, exiting: Could not open local rpm file: kernel- Unable to open file I looked for that rpm (kernel- but could not find it, am I missing something here ?
