Browser irritatingly slow to launch

http://crunchbanglinux.org – The first time I launch a browser (either Iceweasel or Chromium) after boot up it takes several seconds to open, subsequent launches in the same session seem considerably faster.Is there anything I can do to make the first launch faster?Thanks. (HowTos)

Does anyone have a problem with the Dolphin broswer, where if you launch the browser, and if there is already a tab open on a web page, the browser will crash and force close? It's really annoying. It did this for me on my previous phone also.

I really want to keep using this browser, but it's so annoying that I usually have to launch the browser twice before using it.

Is it possible to "preload"(actually not preload, but kinda emulate the startup) e.g. nautilus (or firefox) startup at login, so the first time I launch it myself it launches faster? Probably to start it on another desktop and close after some seconds?

Launch GUI from terminal 24 weeks 6 days ago

I just installed Ubuntu 12.10 x64 onto an unused laptop and reconfigured GRUB to launch to a terminal instead of the GUI as I quite often just want to run some commands without all the other stuff loading and slowing me down. When I decide I want to launch the GUI (I've changed to Cinnamon by the way) I type STARTX and the GUI launches, but it is missing the taskbar/menu at the bottom of the scree
