Broadcom wireless card in with Fedora 16

http://unix.stackexchange.com – I just installed Fedora as a dual-boot (other OS in Win7) on my Dell Inspiron 1750 and, of course, the wireless card is missing firmware. The wireless card is called Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card. When I run lspci on Fedora it says that the card is a BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY (rev 01). Some internet searching shows that this card has had a lot of problems before. I don't have access to wired internet, but I do have a USB flash drive. I'm using the instructions for Linux drivers from Broadcom's own website. To quote, Some of the major linux distros already supply a version of this d (HowTos)

hey everyone i just wanted to say that this is an awesome site that has proviede me with alot of help in the past. the last version of fedora that i have tinkered with was F 8. Im taking a class and had to have 12 for the course. I had a seperate 250GB hdd that i wasnt using so guess what i filled it up with.

I cannot get the wireless card on a Dell Inspiron 14 to work. I am using SUSE 11.2 16 bit OS, which does not recognize the wireless card. The card is Dell 1397 mini card with a chipset BCM4315 - a broadcom wireless chip.

I would appreciate a link to a driver and firmware for the card or, if I need to use ndiswrapper a link to the appropriate 16 bit windows driver.

I have install 64bit version of Fedora 12 on a new Dell Inspiron 1545 with a Dell 1397 wireless card. It actually uses a Broadcom BCM4312 chip.

I have install the following rpms:

Disclaimer: I almost definitely should not be using Linux. I likely lack the general competence needed.

Installed Fedora 17 on an old Dell 1535 which I believe uses the Dell 1379 Wireless Mini-Card which is Broadcom manufactured.

When installation was complete I had no wireless functionality with it informing me that firmware was missing when in Network Settings.

Hi, I'm new to Opensuse, I just installed 11.3, no serious problems so far.

I see a lot of people with problems to make work their Broadcom 4312 wireless. These are the steps I took to solve it. Please remember I'm a total rookie on Opensuse, so there is probably a better way.

I just finished installing Fedora 11 on a Dell Inspiron 6000. After some tinkering, I was able to get the Broadcom 4318 wireless card to start working. After a restart, I booted into Fedora and attempted to connect to my wireless network.

I am trying to get my wireless card working on my Dell Inspiron 17r and Fedora 17.

I have a Dell Laptop on which wireless and every thing used to work perfectly.Today morning I noticed the suddenly there is no wireless at all. On a working condition I used to have folllowing

My Dell Vostro 1520's Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card must not have been set-up correctly, as the Network Manager won't even let me select the wireless tab. Please just explain to me, step by step, what exactly I must do to make it work!
