Hi, I'm new to Opensuse, I just installed 11.3, no serious problems so far.
I see a lot of people with problems to make work their Broadcom 4312 wireless. These are the steps I took to solve it. Please remember I'm a total rookie on Opensuse, so there is probably a better way.
First, this is my setup:
Code:
/sbin/lspci -nnk
Hello, sorry to dredge up the past, i know this is an old problem but i cant find an answer younger than 2005.
Running:-
/sbin/lspci -vnn | grep 14e4
I get:-
03:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY [14e4:4315] (rev 01)
i've seen a workaround for centos:-
yum install b43-fwcutter b43-openfwwf
mkdir ~/b43-driver; cd ~/b43-driver
wget http://down
Hey all, after finally installing 11.3, I found that my wireless NIC had stopped working. I've spent about 4 hours trying various online tutorials to get the card working, but I'm still right where I was when I began.
The card as reported by lspci:
Code:
linux-lcag:~ # lspci -vnn | grep Broadcom
Hello,I just installed Crunchbang on a new HP laptop:Linux pavilion 3.2.0-0.bpo.2-amd64 #1 SMP Fri Jun 29 20:42:29 UTC 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux At first there was no option in Network Manager for selecting the wireless network.
I just fixed my broken system, due to forcing glibc update. After that, Arch couldn't detect my wifi chip, so I decided to reinstall the driver again.$ lspci -vnn | grep 14e409:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Broadcom Corporation NetLink BCM5906M Fast Ethernet PCI Express [14e4:1713] (rev 02)0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN [14e4:4311] (rev 01)Fir
i have installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my Lenovo G550 laptop.
It has a Broadcom 4312 wireless lan adapter which is not working.
How do I fix it. How can I see what drivers are being used.
I'm new to linux. I just started working on ubuntu 12.04. Wifi is not working on ubuntu. It works on Windows 7 though.
When I tried connecting to the net throght LAN it works. Also, through LAN I checked for additional drivers.
just like that its gone....
