It appears that the interactions between NetworkManager and the various net config filess are a bit of a dogs breakfast...Worse, http://wiki.debian.org/NetworkConfiguration says -- "DNS configuration for network-manager. Warning: This section has not been tested with an actual network-manager setup.
I was setting up a RHEL7 server in vmware vSphere and I'm having trouble getting it on the network without NetworkManager. I configured the server to have a static IP during the install process and it set everything up using NetworkManager.
Not sure if I'm on the right track here, but you can start/stop/enable/disable etc NetworkManager with: systemctl start NetworkManagerwifi-menu will not work if NetworkManager is running and vice-versa.I use NetworkManager, but if I don't boot into a gui cause somethings broken, then I have to stop NetworkManager in order for wifi-menu to work.
