brasero hide my files in the CD

Tried to recover my files from an old IDE hardisk using "Recover My Files" on XP. It identified all the deleted folders (family videos & pics) and files but when I tried to save, I was asked to buy.

I've got two noob questions, but I can't find it easily, so I ask here... Forgive me. :)

I have Fedora 8 and we just switched over from a Windows "File Server" to Windows Server 2008 (10.1.1.17). I updated my fstab file and now when I go onto the Windows folders, I can list and read files, even save them, but new files are always read only.

Hey, I'm using opensuse 11.2 KDE. I have a backup repository that I like to sync my main files (music, pictures, documents, etc.) to. I was wondering if there is software, or a script, or something that I can use to automatically sync these files on a daily basis (or some set time)? I've looked around the internet a little bit, but I haven't found anything too fruitful.

I want to do something that would make my life easier.

Problem:
1. I use OpenSUSE as my main OS for over 2 years now. BUT I like playing with a flavor of the month OS.
2. Virtual OS installs are not my cup of tea. a) You don't get a "true" feeling for the OS without it being installed on metal. b) I have a OLD cpu and virtual anything is painfully slow.
