Hello !
Rotate Cube, and all visual effects was working perfectly on my desktop without any extra configuration, but none of them are working on Dell Inspiron N4050 i5
I tried Ubuntu 10.10, 12.04 LTS 64-bit .. same,Visual effects was one of the most important factors which encourage me to migrate to Linux system "Ubuntu" ..
Hi all,
I bought a HP Pavilion G6 with Windows 8 on it about a week and a half ago, and I wanted to try to install ubuntu on the system. After much trouble, I did get ubuntu on the system and I can boot into it. However, after I log in there is no GUI and I have not been able to solve this problem.
I am new to Ubuntu so I have some doubts regarding Ubuntu. My system is Dell Inspiron N4010 with 3GB RAM and preloaded with Windows 64 bit. I would like to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. So I downloaded the 64 bit version. Will it work perfectly on my machine? Last time I used some old versions of Ubuntu and the WiFi was not working properly. Will there be any issue like that?
Thanks in advance
I'm new to these forums and pretty new to Ubuntu, but I've been trying to learn and I just installed Ubuntu 12.10 on my XPS17 as a dual-boot with windows 7.
Gone through many forums but nothing seems to have worked in my case.
I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on my Dell Inspiron 1464 Laptop with Wubi. The other operating system being Windows 7.
The wireless on Windows is working perfectly fine but not on Ubuntu. Initially, in Ubuntu 12.04 the wireless used to work perfectly fine but not lately. (Note. I keep on updating my Ubuntu regularly.
I would like to have the following setup, but I don't really know where to start looking or if it is even possible.
Windows 7 is the host Operating System
Ubuntu 12.04 guest Operating System is running development server in Virtual box.
I would like to be able to edit files on ubuntu 12.04, using sublime text 2 on Windows 7.
I will soon be purchasing a new laptop & currently the Dell Inspiron 17 is my favourite. I have been looking around for compatibility issues and it seems to be fine.
I have a very legit query,
My Dell Inspiron 14(3421) system came pre-installed with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as the Primary OS on the whole disk drive(no partitions were made). So I made a recovery/backup disk of the Dell Ubuntu System and then formatted the whole system. I partitioned the disk to setup Win 7 Pro and now Win 7 Pro 64bit is perfectly loaded as the Primary OS.
