I ran into a boot problem that has informed me it can't find the file system or mount the root and is "sleeping forever". My dad gave me a laptop with Fedora already installed but I never got the disc so I'm unable to use anything to boot past the bootloader screen. Can I find a recovery disc or program online anywhere or am I going to have to buy the entire OS?
Have a clean fresh install of 11.3 from the DVD.
Have stability problems with a couple of things.
One that is crashing for me every time I go near it is "system settings" any time I try to set anything in "system settings > desktop > screensaver"
I am having so much trouble trying to install Fedora 17 on my laptop. I have an HP Pavilion DM4. I have a 32 bit ISO of F17 on a USB, from unetbootin. I tried LiveUSBcreator, and had the same problems as I do with unetbootin, so I don't think it's that.
I boot up with the live image, and it works fine. I install it onto the hard drive (using the use all space option), and it works fine...
I'm trying to install Fedora 17 beta on my machine with one spinning disk and one SSD using the anaconda partitioning "custom" mode.
This fails with the "you have not created a bootloader stage 1 target device" error which they say here means you need to make a "bios boot" partition as the File system type.
I just ordered my phone a few days ago. It was working perfectly for me, and I was just using the Facebook, ooVoo, and Pandora apps. I didn't install that much from the app store yet, because I was waiting until my phone will be activated. Suddenly, last night, my phone asked me if I wanted to install a system update, and I started to download it.

I burned a Fedora 11 Live CD i686, and tried to boot from it on my MacBook. The first couple of times, it would get to the boot options(?) screen. When I selected "Boot", there was a message saying something like "Not accessible"; basically it would hang.
Greeings,
I've ran into an issue during the DVD upgrade of Fedora 16 to Fedora 17 on a dual boot, two drive, system.
Win7 is on sda and Fedora 16 is on sdb. Both drives boot from the MBR via the BIOS boot menu (F12). This keeps the Windows drive untouched.
When upgrading from the F17 DVD, I don't get the option to select to install the bootloader to the MBR on sdb.
