Hi everyone! First of all, sorry for my English. I got this problem and I hope you can help me :)
I want to install Fedora 16 on my laptop that already has Windows 7 installed. The problem is I can't figure out how to get around the 4 primary partition limit. Windows 7 is already taking up two partitions on it's on....the one for the OS and the 100 MB partition that Windows requires.
Hi. Having the hardest time installing Fedora 17 on a new Desktop.
Here is the sizes of my partitions: 1 Harddisk, divided into boot 350 MB, sda2, 600 GB (with Windows), sda3 273 GB, plus sda4 58 GB.
sda3 is just extra storage. sda4 was reserved for Fedora. At first it was not allocated.
Hi all, I've just got a new laptop running windows vista 64 bit but going to be removing that & installing fedora 11 on it & seeing as Ubuntu doesn't come with a pae kernel as standard yet, fedora is the way to go :). the Hard drive is 2x500 gigs running in raid 0 mode
here's how I would like to install fedora
I tried to install Fedora 17 on the same disk I have Windows 7. First I got the message, that there are no free space to create partition, even in Windows part of disk was marked as unallocated.
I spent two days to get to know that there's something like dynamic disc. OK. I converted it to basic one using EaseUs tool, which took about 20 hours. Ok, no problem.
I have a dual boot system with Windows 7 and Fedora 16. On my Windows side I had 4 NTFS partitions - C, D, E, F. On Fedora 16 side it had a single ext2 partition. Now since I was out of space in C partition of windows so I decided to delete the F partition and extend the C partition. I used windows partition tool for this purpose. But when I rebooted I got the grub prompt screen.
I am installing fedora 18 from live CD.
When I manually create partition, and create the /boot partition of 500MB, I get the error message:
"Unable to allocate aligned partition"
However, I am successfully able to create swap and /home and / partitions with no error.
I have more than enough space available for all partitons.
And when I click on "Automatically create par
I've installed Fedora 18 Spherical Cow with the new installer and I created 3 partitions from free space on the hard drive (/, /boot and swap).
After I completed the installation, I figured out that there is 8G still free and I want to use it for a /home partition.
Is that possible now?
Here is what my partition looked like yesterday morning:
[100 mb system partition] [499.9 gb partition for Windows 8]
I ran disk manager and reduced the Windows 8 partition.
