Well, it's just as the title says. I'm running 12.10, and honestly I'm stumped as to what my problem is.
Sometimes my computer will fail to boot multiple times in a row, then all the sudden work great. Usually during the failed boots I get an error message "grub: out of disk", and I have to turn off the computer.
Hello all.
I have a big trouble with Ubuntu 12.04.2 and 12.10.
After boot all works fine. But an uncertain time, my computer freezes. Only hard power off work.
I tried different kernels - have the same problem.
Memtest86+ says: no errors on RAM.
Maybe you, guys, have some idea how to fix it or why this happens?
Maybe someone have same laptop.
I just did a fresh install of ubuntu 12.10 over an existing one, with disk encryption, when I boot up I get a purple screen then black/screen freeze, I power off then on again and get the boot loader, this is annoying how do I make it boot first time?
Hi, I have a strange problem with regards to the system time.
I am situated in Mumbai, India, which is +5.30 hours time zone (no daylight savings). I have windows xp installed on one hard drive and Ubuntu 12.10 installed on the other hard drive (installed each OS disconnecting the other hard drive; Use the boot menu using F12 to boot into each OS).
Hi,

Thanks :fingers-crossed:
I have a phone which is Samsung Galaxy Y Duos and its current android version is Gingerbread 2.3.6 and it is rooted.
All,
As excited I was to try out openSuse 11.2 (x86_64) it has left me with 2 minds now ... the issue is that sometimes when I reboot the system or perform a fresh boot, it gets to the point where I can see that it is trying to do auto login as the desktop user and after that it freezes and nothing happens. (I'm using GNOME)
I had many years of reliable behavior with my desktop using 10.04 LTS. After upgrading to 12.04 LTS, my desktop is now acting very strange with booting. Rebooting using the "restart" option always works without any problem. Booting after a normal "shutdown" within about 5-10 minutes works without any problem.
I'm having a problem with my Kubuntu. It's almost a fresh install (I've only installed the typical apps/codecs only).
Sometimes it boots fast, and sometimes it boots slow. It's almost random. So, I installed bootchart and now I bring you the logs of a fast boot and a slow boot. I don't know why dmseg says the boot time is almost the same (~52 seconds).
