I've managed to do this before under Ubuntu, without any real problems, but I'm having trouble using my bluetooth dongle with my phone.Synaptic says I have bluez blueman gnome-bluetooth and other installed, but when I use "Run Program" to run it, it says "Error: no such file or directory"I reinstalled blueman to no avail.
I turn on Bluetooth on both my devices and open up Music on my Android. I select a song to play, press the menu button, and tap "Via Bluetooth":
I tap on my computer in the "Bluetooth Device Picker":
Then it says, under the name of my computer:
Connected to media audio
Now I should technically be able to play music through my computer, since it "Just Worked" in Kubuntu with Blueman.
I want to send picture from my mobile to my pc, for that purpose I want to use bluetooth, I am using ubuntu 9.10.
I went to Synaptic bluetooth is installed; I have also run this sudo apt-get install blueman.
when I go to system/preferences/bluetooth manager I get the following error.
connection to BlueZ faile:
Bluez daemon is not runing
This thread seems to have outdated info on getting bluetooth to work? I'm using the latest Waldorf on my hp mini. I first tried using the Debian Bluetooth User guide http://wiki.debian.org/BluetoothUser but that didn't get me anywhere. Couldn't get the bluetooth icon to show up in the tray and hcitool dev command returns no devices.
I had a solid bluetooth connection to my mouse with my built-in bluetooth on the Dell Inspiron 1525. I had installed a game and when I exited out, the bluetooth stopped working. Instead of just rebooting the system, I removed bluez and reinstalled it, but it still did not work. Now I'm stuck without a bluetooth connection or icon at the top.
One of the neglected technology in linux PCs is Bluetooth.
Though most wireless connectivity needs in today’s computing world are addressed by wifi 802.11abg, device to device communications such as bluetooth still has its uses.
