Is there any particular reason why I should not perform SPF checks for outgoing mails?
I was reading on some articles that "you should not perform SPF checks for outgoing mails", why?
I'm doing SPF checks for incoming mails and it saves me from lot of spam, but sometimes I get some spam sent from my shared hosting servers, could be outgoing SPF checks valid to block some spam?
Hello,
How to tune the mail server to block the incoming spam, currently we are using
cPanel/WHM 11.32.3 (build 21)
OS : CENTOS 6.2 x86_64 standard
CSF firewall
ClamAV AntiVirus
we do use SpamAssassin To fight against spam mails but still receiving uncountable spam mails
any solutions to this ?
I am looking for a smtp proxy to install on our gateway which should monitor outgoing smtp traffic to identify the source of recently occuring spam attacks from our network.
It would be enough if this could log all outgoing mails, no actual filtering must be done as I'm going to do this manually.
Also, is it possible to monitor smtps ports 465 and 587 or is it necessary to completely block these
I've had my EVO for one week now. I've gotten a few spam messages, from spam bots (hey I'm 19 and single, wanna chat?) to best buy saying I won a gift card. They aren't affiliated with a number so I can't block them. Anyone else have these issues and how do I block them? Thanks.

Tired of getting SMS spam? If a new system on trial overseas is adopted globally you'll be able to report spam to a global clearinghouse simply by sending an SMS, and then have your mobile network operator block such messages.
Can anybody suuggest me a list of keywords which i can block in mails which are sent from my postfix mail server.I wanna include them in my postfix header checks and body checks file.
I have noticed that it's possible to telnet into a mailserver that I own and send spoofed messages to other clients. This only works for the domain that the mail server is regarding; I cannot do it for other domains.
For example; lets say that I own example.com.
I had situation in past when one of my domain POP3/SMTP user/pass compromised.
And someone connect to our server (SMTP) with that user account to send bulk of emails.
I need to eliminate this sort of spam mechanism like in case if account compromised no one can send emails to others by using that user email address.
I have quite some users on my domain which acts as POP3 and SMTP also.
