Black Screen when Booting Ubuntu on Asus Netbook

http://askubuntu.com – I tried installing Ubuntu on my netbook through a bootable USB a few days back. After installation I happened to use Ubuntu for quite some time and later shut down my netbook. When I tried booting the netbook again, it just shows a black screen with a blinking cursor after the initial Asus screen. I tried opening BIOS by pressing F2 but it ain't coming either. What should I do? (HowTos)

I'm trying to install Ubuntu 12.10 on a Asus Eee PC "flare series" from a USB key made with LiLi (Linux Live USB creator). The installation process seems to work fine until it asks to reboot the netbook. Then, it only displays a black screen with a blinking white "_" with no possible interaction. I've tried to run it in live-disk mode from the USB key, with exactly the same result.

I have recently bought a Sony Vaio Netbook VPCW12S1E, with Windows 7 Starter installed on it. I would like to install Ubuntu's Netbook Remix on it. I have made the bootable usb stick, but the problem is I can't find how to enter it's bios to make the netbook startup from usb.

I have an Asus 1015cx netbook with atom dual core, 1gb ram. I installed Ubuntu 12.04 with wubi inside windows 7 and evrythng was ok..but when i installed additional drivers of broadcom and cedar trail, the netbook does not boots after restart. There occurs a blank screen and curosr keeps blinking. The same problem hapened with Xubuntu 12.04. Please suggest.

Hello everyone! I want to install UNR on my netbook, but after switching it on it immediately boots Windows, not even showing BIOS info. When I press power on button, the logo of Windows appears on the black background (as usual) and starts booting it. I have no access to BIOS. How should I fix it?

I have a eeePC netbook 701 and running 8.0.4 ubuntu.

This is what happens.. turn the netbook on, and right after the ubutunu screen loads the netbook just shuts off completely.

any ideas?

I haven't done anything different from the last time the netbook was on

Hello dear Community,until recently I've been running CB Statler r20110207 on my lil Acer Netbook. I found that release a lot more stable on my Netbook than the R20111125 release (haven't tried the latest from 8th of feb). So a week ago, I made a apt-get update && upgrade . Ever since then, my netbook won't boot properly, I get a black screen instead of the login screen.

I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my ASUS EEEPc 1005PEB for school, but I have decided to sell it, and when I go to boot my live USB for Windows 7 on the Netbook it doesn't work. It just boots to a black screen with a cursor. I've tested the USB on my other computer and it boots just fine.
