After I have configured my /etc/named.conf and /var/named/domain.
I try to start dns server via service named restart and it was not successful, pls check my confs files and log,am waiting for any possible solution.
// Provided by Red Hat bind package to configure the ISC BIND named(8) DNS
// server as a caching only nameserver (as a localhost DNS resolver only).
I upgraded bind/named this morning on a Debian 6 VPS, now the server won't resolve anything. named service is running. Config file looks good. Not sure if directadmin has anything to do with the bind startup process that's missing, or what might be going wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bind 9.8.2 from official Centos updates repo used to work fine, but then I needed to tweak it by compiling from source (nothing crazy here -- just compiled with different options than offered in the CentOS RPM. Note that I used the source from bind-9.9.4, not 9.8.x, so maybe this is potentially the problem?
