Big problem with data usage! Help please

http://androidforums.com – Hello, for the past two months I have been having a problem with my data usage which never happened before.... I have a one gig plan that I never went over until recently. Last month I have used about 6 gig and this month I'm almost at 16gig! I don't u derstand how this can happen because I don't do anything more than I used to... no facebook, no YouTube... When I check my data usage it says that android manager is the big user; 15.25gig and browser 335mb... What is android manager? I suspect my boyfriend installed it to spy on me and listen but I'm not sure... when i read the app details (General)

I have a Sony Xperia S which I have upgraded to ICS about 1 month ago. I have noticed that there is WAY TOO MUCH date usage going on, c. 1.5gb per month, and I am a very low level user. 70% of this seems to be coming from Android OS whcih makes no sense.

Coming from an unlimited data plan down to a rather tight 100MB per month, I need to be careful about data usage.

I'm planning to use the Navigation app tomorrow for a 25 mile drive.

What is the approx. data usage rate for Navigation satnav on the S2 ?

Can I minimise it e.g just map rather than satellite images etc.

I'm on Vodafone in the UK with a 500mb/month data package. I've had the Desire for 18 months now, and although I've been happy with it, recently the data usage on mobile (3g etc) has been going through the roof.

After doing a bit of research it appeared to be a bug with the OS when WiFi and mobile data were enabled simultaneously.

I have had my S IIII, AT&T, for a few weeks. Since I am on wireless most of the day, I have the 200M data plan. My phone has started going nuts with data. most of my usage is from something called Delete Apps, which is using 10-15M per day. The strange part is that this only shows under Data Usage. It is not an app, and it does not show up anywhere in the application manager.

I recently purchased the One XL and the device is great but I noticed its using an insane amount of data in certain applications with just minutes of use, I was in my Faceback app and did a manual refresh, looked at a few posts, went back to my "Usage" section and I've used near 2mbs in just under a minute. So I tested the YouTube app, played a video (turned OFF HD).

I have a Sony Tipo and one of the great features is a data usage section that tells you how much each app has used within the current billing cycle. Only way I stand a chance of sticking to my 500 MB limit!

I've noticed that every month about 100 MB goes on "Facebook Calendar". Why is this?

Hey xda!!

I was just writing to see if I could somehow exclude Facebook from "Data Usage" in Settings as I have unlimited Facebook access through my provider but I have set up a Data Usage Block on any exceeding data being used by other applications to stop myself exceeding the limit.

Has anyone ever ran into an issue with Verizon reporting data according to the log in screen on My Verizon my phone has used 3.503 gb of data, when I check individual data for this phone is is not even close to 200mb of data used. I have contacted Verizon and they cannot seem to help, I just want assurance I am not going to be charged for going over my alloted data for the month which is 6gb.
