Write a shell script to help monitor the health of the /etc/passwd file.
Find entries that have UID0
Find entries that have no password (needs /etc/shadow)
Find any sets of entries that have duplicate UID's
Find entries that have duplicate login names

I've been beating my head on a double remote key entry issue. I have a pair of leadtek (DTV1000-T and DTV1000-S) cards and couldn't figure out why I was getting duplicate keypresses.
I had a look in ~/.lirc/mythtv, and there were duplicate entries for all buttons.
I am in eager to learn about proc and sysfs entries. I googled to know about proc entries. I can understand that we can create our proc entries to /proc file system. I could not find much about it.
I understand that proc entries are the values which is set to proc filesystem. I dont know that which is correctly or not.

I have Fedora 14 running on my HP laptop and I have noticed a very strange thing about Rhythmbox. It shows every song as duplicate.
Just about all of my phone contacts now have duplicate entries. One with an earmarked page lookin thing with a yellow thingamajig doohicky deelymabob. What's the deal with this?
