Best way to get LOUDER audio? (rooted,booted,twrp, but stock rom)

http://forum.xda-developers.com – Even at full volume, this thing is pretty quiet while playing movies. I've tried multiple video player apps before settling on BS Player (best compatibility with my files), but I'd like to know to get louder audio. Has anyone had success with a DSP / Equalizer / Beats Audio / etc? Before the latest JellyBean HyDRO update I had Beats Audio installed however after this update, I have not seen it in action. The first time i installed it, it ran in the notification bar, however now, I wonder if its even in action. I also use the program, Volume+ which seems to take over Musix FX and give me FC with the Apollo Player.

Does any developer know of a way to substitute the stock kernel in a note 2 with one that allows the app2sd init,d script.

my note 2 is rooted and has CWM but other than that no other changes.

All these threads below are asking the same thing, "What's the best", and the general consensus is that there isn't a "best", it's all about personal preference.
