I have Ubuntu 12.04 using Broadcom BCM4313 and can't get it to successfully connect to my wifi. I'm sure the problem is not with my wifi since other devices are able to connect. It detects networks but whenever I try to connect, I only get "Connection Failed".
I checked my drivers, modules and blacklist but I'm not sure if there is something I'm missing.
when i restart my Dell inspiron 5010 it do not detects the wifi drivers and the hotkey for turning the wifi card on is not working either. I am using proprietary drivers "Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA Wireless driver source from bcmwl-kernel-source (proprietary)".
I need to click and apply "Do not Use the device" and then switch back to the proprietary driver.
Help please. Put it on the computer ubuntu 11.10 64bit. Used the response in the topic WiFi does not work, Broadcom STA Wireless driver does not work on a BCM4313 but this does not help. Computer Lenovo z570, wifi card Broadcom Corporation BCM4313
When choosing Network Manager > Enable Wireless nothing happens. WiFi not enabling.
Hello all,
I installed Ubuntu 12.04 alongside Win7. I installed Broadcom STA wireless drivers from the additional drivers section in system settings.
I am able to connect to my school's wifi and my neighbor's wifi (i dont know the make of this modem) but not my wifi. I am using a 2wire modem which came with my AT&T uverse internet package.
I just updated my ubuntu 12.10 today and it went fine and I was told to restart system and after i restart my wifi stopped working. Mine is broadcom BCM4312 card . It was working fine just before the update ! I tried reinstalling driver from software sources and it didn’t work, it shows the propriety driver in use but network manager doesn’t detect my wifi card.
Hi
I have an Asus Eee PC with Ubuntu Netbook 10.10 installed which I've been trying to get my home Wi-Fi working with.
After reading some of the other forum threads about the subject, I ended up opening the Additional Drivers manager & removing, then reactivating the Broadcom STA wireless driver.
Hi I just deleted my windows XP and installed Ubuntu 9.10 earlier this morning. I used wired connection to get drivers for my wireless network card.
When I did lspci, the very last line states:
Network Controller: Broadcom Coporation BCM4311 902.11b/g WLAN(rev 01)
Hello,
After I set up my wireless network, I had to restart my computer before it would connect. I have talked to/read comments by, several other Ubuntu users who had to do the same thing. Why does this happen, and is there a way to connect a wireless network without a restart? Are we all just noobs and missing something obvious?
