I have a recent Linux convert who is finding it difficult finding online games. He likes war games. I don't play games online (except the occasional chess game) so I don't know of any like this. Anybody want to point us in the right direction? He just spent 3 hours looking and is about ready to have me install Windows for him. Thanks ahead of time.
I started putting Multiplayer online games on my SSD and all single player games on my HDD.
If I had all my games on my SSD it would be full. I don't mind waiting that few extra seconds for single player games to boot up.
I have a Nvidia GTX 650Ti with HDMI out. The video redirects fine, however- sound will only play out of my computer speakers. When I choose for all audio to come out of my TV, the test sound plays fine; but sounds from my games (SuperTuxKart, Pingus, SMC) are silent.
Until recently, most games have worked fine. However, I now have no audio in many video games. Affected games include Kerbal Space Program and Natural Selection 2. Metro: Last Light and Fez are unaffected.
I belong to a lot of online gaming communities, maybe too many. I have accounts on Kongregate, FOG, and Armor Games just to name a few.
The game site FOG stands for Free Online Games. It is rather peculiar in the fact that you can make a profile, avatar, and groups. However they have no means to communicate, no instant messages, mail, or biography.
I'm aware that this is a pretty vague description, but it's the best I can do: When I try to open games through the applications menu, nothing happens. I've used top to check if any processes start running, but they don't. I've been trying Braid, Bastion and Nexuiz, and all have the same problem.
