OK, I can confirm Bastion runs on Chromium 18 (Installed from AUR, package chromium-browser-bin).

Is it possible that chrome stores its files in another folder? If so, you had a clean start of chrome, whereas chromium has a long browsing history etc. So please start chromium with a clean config and see if there's still a difference.

Looks like a kernel bug related to the backlight in your Asus laptop. If you're not experiencing any issues other than the report in the logs, I'd wait until a new kernel is out. Otherwise you might want to try with one of the kernel release candidates or git versions.
