I want to try some networking projects with Raspberry Pis, and I need to just send packets between a pair of pis. I would be happy as a first step just being able to ping between to Raspberry Pis in ad-hoc mode. I have not successfully done this despite looking at several tutorials and examples online.
I have 2x Raspberry Pis with the Debian Wheezy OS installed.
I'm starting to learn basic switching / networking and I've hit a small hiccup in understanding a fundamental thing. In the scenario I have a L3 switch (Brocade in my environment) and the facility gave me a /24 (We'll say 10.1.0.0/24).
Now would you assign the full 10.1.0.0/24 range to switchport 1?
While I was trying to play with my networking settings, my computer crashes.
Now, it gives me the 60 second wait while booting up. I can start the networking by hand, but the wifi still does not work (I think). When I try to turn off the wifi hotspot, the program crashes and doesn't turn it off. Is it possible to turn it off from the terminal?
