Users of Banshee media player can now buy music from Amazon's MP3 store and support the GNOME Foundation at the same time. At the GUADEC conference, the GNOME team announced that the support built in to Banshee to access Amazon's music store now sends an affiliate ID when it transmits requests to purchase music.
Banshee 2.0 has been released after a long wait and to be frank we’ve lost count of days we waited for it . Surprisingly, this Media player has replaced Rythmbox and made it to Ubuntu’s Default Media application & will come preinstalled in Ubuntu 11.04. Banshee 2.0 will be available in Ubuntu 11.04 Beta 2 onwards. So regular Natty testers will get it in an upgrade.
So i decided to organize my music downloaded banshee because i could not do any thing with default music player, so i installed banshee

I use Webupd8's Go-mtpfs to mount Nexus 4 on Ubuntu 12.10. It mounts the folder in home directory. I use Banshee to manage my music and playlists. Banshee can't recognize the mounted folder as a music player and hence I can't sync my music. Is there a way that I can link or mount Nexus 4 in a way for it be recognized by Banshee as a music player for seamless music synchronization?
Summary: Mono trap from Novell entrenched deep inside a ubiquitously-used distribution of GNU/Linux
OMG!UBUNTU! not only promoted Banshee but it also jumped the gun when it claimed that the program had been added to the next Ubuntu. Well, only now is it official:
he day we’ve all be waiting for has finally arrived.
I kind of have two questions, that tie into each other.
I want to set Banshee as the default music player. It seems simple enough. Go to "systems settings > Details > Default Applications" and change "Music"from "Rhythmbox" to "Banshee". But, this did not work. How do I make this work?
How do I uninstall Rhythmbox?
Banshee will convert the music, and then apparently add it to my ipod, but nothing will happen.
I have banshee 2.2.1
My ipod is an ipod touch 2G 32gb firmware version 4.2.1 which has been jail broken with green poin0n.
Gah, this is irritating me.
