The annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is where companies show off the latest and greatest in gadgets — but with all the sleek exteriors and specs it can be easy to forget about the tiny bits and pieces of technology that really make the magic happen.

Big guys like Samsung, Sony and LG use the Consumer Electronics Show to simply show off to one another, whereas the little guys (including case makers) are actually trying to conduct business — attract buyers, ink deals, and grow their company.
This makes the iLounge of CES a double-edged sword. We can only get so excited about a phone or tablet case.
With Microsoft pulling out of the Consumer Electronics Show and Apple nowhere to be seen, the show has become a huge opportunity for other companies to have a major onstage moment. With more than 150,000 people in attendance and millions of people watching remotely, CES is the opportunity of the year for a company that isn’t necessarily known for its press conference prowess.

From Yamtrader to Das Keyboard, the SXSWi trade show floor is a mixed bag. While not everything lent itself to a detail visit with the TCTV camera, we did find a few interesting companies in the mix.
