Hi I am running Backtrack 5 R2 in Virtual box on a Windows 7 host. I have a Netgear WNA1100 n150 adapter that I am trying to use to get wireless. I put a filter in the VirtualBox network settings to use it with backtrack.
I've read quite a few articles now, and they all pretty much say the same thing.
Hi all, i am trying to use my laptop (running Ubuntu) to take the connected wireless network to allow a separate computer (win7) to be wired to the Ethernet port and be connected to the Internet.
To reiterate,
I want to bridge my Ethernet and wireless connections so that a computer connected can use the Internet.
Modem---(wireless)---> Ubuntu Laptop---(Ethernet port)--- Win7 Desktop
Bonus
For testing purposes I installed virtualbox to simulate a linux(64 bit ubuntu) server.
I configured my network settings like this:
Adapter 1:
NAT
Adapter 2:
Host-only
with my etc/network/interfaces configured like this:
#loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
# primary network interface
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
#the host-only network interface
auto eth1
iface eth1 in
I am trying to connect my desktop to a wireless network. I have purchased an ASUS USB-N13 B1 adapter. I have followed instructions for installing drivers and disabling conflicting drivers. I have thoroughly searched and could not find a solution. The adapter is recognized and powered on. I have entered the ssid and password information into the wireless network configuration.
On my laptop I'm running two Ubuntu servers as guests on virtualbox. They are connected via a host-only adapter that has an IP address of '192.168.56.1', with the two guest severs having IP addresses set to '192.168.56.101' & '192.168.56.102'. Each one is able to ping the other but not ssh into it.
I have three profiles set up in /etc/network.d/ on a laptop that I'm trying to use to bridge a stand-alone computer to my main LAN in another part of the house.1. eth0 - with a static address, no gateway or dns2. wireless - with a static address, no GW or DNS3.
Hello,
Can anyone recommend a usb wireless card for completing the wifu training course.
The wireless adapter Netgear WN111v2 USB I haven't been able to find, and on netgear's website they don't advertise that one anymore.
I could purchase another usb adapter but I am concerned that they might not support injection or monitor mode.
I will be running backtrack as a guest OS in virtualbo
I purchased USB Wireless adapter which runs smoothly on Windows and Ubuntu, but in BackTrack it showing me Bad password issue. From my reading I guess it's driver issue which BackTrack Kernel don't have drivers for RTL8191SU (my) Adapter.
The Realtek site have drivers for kernels 2.6-2.9.
