Back in the day, you used to be able to have individual backgrounds on the seperate screens. It seems that in Fedora11, all the desktops must have the same background. Is there any way to change this?

I have my main pc and my htpc I just moved over to win 8.1. They both log in with my windows live account or whatever that is. I am trying to setup different backgrounds and lock screens for each, but when I change one it changes the other as well. How can I just change one and not the other?
Ubuntu save default backgrounds in /usr/share/backgrounds When we open appearance then system load backgrounds from that directory, right? I have added some backgrounds in /usr/share/backgrounds directory but they are not visible in appearance window(System settings>appearance). Also in file manager i can't see the thumbnails.
Is it possible to have a transitional background for the kdm > ksplash > desktop processes.I was thinking that if this can be done for branding logos then can it be done for backgrounds also?Maybe then the branding and background 'incremental effect' could be loaded as 1 component...Something along the lines of say a background starting in greyscale > desaturated > full colou
I want to change my login screen background (and keep the dots). But I upgraded to cinnamon 2.0 a day ago and then to 13.10 earlier today. I recently became aware of the issue with cinnamon 2.0 and unity on 13.10. This normally would not matter to me since I use cinnamon instead but the only way I know of to change the login screen background is to change unity background.
Have Ubuntu 13.04 with Cinnamon 2. Had a Red Background (From http://technology.desktopnexus.com/wallpaper/1403493/) on Cinnamon DE before the Cinnamon DE Update to 2.03. Have Copied the Background file to /usr/share/backgrounds Via Root. Does not show up in Ubuntu backgrounds, but Does show up in Cinnamon backgrounds, just does not take Effect at all.
