My Linux box on Azure often experiences a blocking problem: it stops responding and if I'm so lucky to be already in SSH I get that the file system has been mounted into readonly mode. The only solution seems to reboot the machine from Azure VM Control Panel, since issuing init 6 returns that it's impossible to write to disk.
i connected ipsec tunnel between windows azure and ubutu 13 with openswan, azure has software based vpn, both connected the thing is vm in azure can ping local subnet ip of linux box but i can't ping local subnet of azure.
i guess it's working only one way. please let me know is there anything i need to do enable two way network.
Update 2: Microsoft reached out with a statement. The issue with Azure was seperate from the other outages. Early reports to the contrary were false. I apologize for getting that wrong.
Here's Microsoft statement:
“Microsoft is aware of issues involving cloud and online services and we are investigating the cause. We can confirm that these issues were not caused by Windows Azure.
Is there a way to make a file readonly permanently in linux. Or can I put a password to a file to make it readonly, then apply that password again to change its permission, or before they can alter it.
